North Transfer Station

Greenbusch Group (GBG) completed the HVAC, piping, plumbing, acoustical and elevator designs for a new, completely enclosed, 150,000 SF tipping and transfer building, a 14,000 SF recycle building, and an associated 10,000 SF office building. The facility is located on an existing site, within a dense, urban, residential neighborhood. The design team successfully integrated intense community design restrictions (height, noise, mechanical roof top equipment, etc) into the LEED GoldŽ facility.
GBG provided environmental and interior noise mitigation. The firm documented noise levels at the facility and in the surrounding community and created a computer model to ensure compliance with the City of Seattle Noise ordinance. Acoustical measures were integrated with the mechanical design to mitigate noise associated with the ventilation fans. Truck noise from within the buildings is controlled with noise barriers (walls), glazing and other internal elements. GBG continues to provide noise monitoring as required by SPU/Neighborhood agreement.

Johns Creek Environmental Campus
Brown & Caldwell - Roswell, GA
This 30-MGD design/build wastewater treatment plant was constructed on a 43-acre lot adjacent to residential properties between 2006 and 2009. Greenbusch constructed a 3-dimensional computer noise model of the facility and surrounding environments to develop mitiation recommendations. A post-audit was performed during a full-capacity fresh water test, verifying achievement of the owner's requirements.
City of Seattle Fleet Maintenance Facilities
KPG - Seattle, WA
Greenbusch provided the acoustical design for renovations of Haller Lake and 805 Charles Street maintenance facilities. The company conducted noise measurements to assess the existing conditions and provided recommendations for interior finishes to reduce the existing noise levels.
Port Angeles Mill Environmental Study
Interfor Pacific Port Ang. Mill - Port Angeles, WA
Greenbusch evaluated noise levels associated with operations at this Port Angeles Mill to predict expected noise levels associated with a proposed expansion of the mill. The company also created a sound noise abatement program to ensure that noise levels along the property lines complied with pertinent noise criteria.
Soil Remediation System Noise Study
Cornerstone Environmental/SAIC - San Bruno, CA
Sound levels generated by a soil remediation system at a site formerly occupied by a gasoline station were a source of community complaint. Greenbusch completed a detailed assessment of City Noise Code compliance at neighboring residential properties and individual equipment contributions to the total sound emission.
