K-12 Education

Audio Video systems for educational institutions cover a huge range. At one end of the spectrum, there are simple, economical systems for multiple classrooms. There are also sophisticated theaters, widely distributed distance-learning systems and many more permutations in between.

Grant High School, built in 1923, with expansions in the 1950’s and 1960’s is currently undergoing a major renovation. The school will retain its brick facade, but will have a new gymnasium, outdoor fields, added floor space, new 2-story commons featuring an eatery and community gathering space, remodeled classrooms and basement, and fully renovated auditorium. Feedback during the planning phase included the desire to retain the school’s historic nature while providing a state-of-the-art facility that would last another 100 years. Currently under construction, target re-opening is August 2019. Greenbusch is providing:

Audio/Video: Performed EASE simulation modeling for all major spaces to provide graphical and simulation of the venue acoustics and sound system performance. Spaces include: 950-seat renovated auditorium; gymnasium, classrooms (outfitted with projects and small classroom systems), music rooms, drama rooms, black box theater and practice rooms.

New 166,400 SF high school was designed for a student population of 850, with the capability to expand to 1,100.

Greenbusch designed high-end A/V systems, capable of a variety of uses including:

  • Auditorium - Performance grade sound and video, with large projector/screen
  • Commons - Multi-purpose sound that can be used for school dances, student/community events, etc.
  • Gymnasium and Auxiliary Gym - Multi-purpose sound that can be used for classes, games, practices, etc.
  • Band Room and Choir Room - Recording and playback capabilities

The new Language and Performing Arts Center contains the Donn Laughlin Theater, as well as music and drama rehearsal rooms and a number of classrooms.
