University of Washington Life Sciences Building
The Life Sciences Building (LSB), opened Fall 2018, is a five-story facility that houses the Department of Biology, a new Greenhouse, research labs, classrooms, conference rooms and offices, and a vivarium in the basement supporting up to forty research labs.
Greenbusch as a subconsultant to Perkins+Will performed Acoustical Design, Audio/Video Engineering and Vertical Transportation Consulting.
Acoustical design was critical for LSB, providing recommendations for noise control between the various spaces and vibration recommendations in the vivarium research labs. Comprehensive Audio/Video engineering design includes projection systems, speakers, and touch screens. The elevators are a standout design feature that Greenbusch was involved in performing traffic analysis and specifications for the Machineroomless elevators serving five floors.
