Ore Peninsula Redevelopment Project in Skagway, Alaska

Scenes from the Field: Ore Peninsula Redevelopment Project in Skagway, Alaska. Our Noise & Vibration team has been traveling north to measure underwater sound levels from in-water pile activities in support of a new cruise ship dock in Skagway. Pile sizes range from timber piles to 48” diameter piles, some nearly 300 feet long. Measurements are being taken from Pacific Pile and Marine’s Pacific Lifter – the largest crane barge on the West Coast – and stunning views are abundant.
