Seattle Public Schools, Hazel Wolf K-8 STEM School
As part of the Building Excellence IV Levy, Seattle Public Schools replaced the old, Pinehurst School, with a contemporary, modern building that houses the Hazel Wolf K-8 program. Opened in September 2016, the school emphasizes studies of the natural environment and STEM curricula. As a subconsultant to NAC Architecture, Greenbusch provided design support through all phases: SD, DD, CD, and CA.
ACOUSTICAL: Spaces of note include the Music/Band Room (combined instrumental and vocal); Gymnasium; Stage (Drama Room); and Commons/Cafetorium. Adjustable acoustical treatments were specified to accommodate the multi-purpose rooms to best support the variable function(s) of the spaces.
AUDIO/VIDEO: Provided EASE modeling for all major spaces, and drawings and specifications for A/V systems for the Commons/Cafetorium; Gymnasium; Music/Band Room; and Stage.
