Seattle University Jim and Janet Sinegal Center for Science & Innovation

The new, five-story Jim and Janet Sinegal Center for Science & Innovation (CIS), designed to LEED Gold, will house the Biology, Chemistry and Computer Science Departments. The 111,000 SF, "Campus Gateway" building includes large, open research and teaching laboratories and project spaces, faculty offices, classrooms, and several spaces named for corporate donors such as the Amazon Computer Science Project Center, the Microsoft Café, and the Art and Dorothy Oberto Commons. Opening is scheduled Fall 2021.

Greenbusch performed Acoustical Design for the CSI including recommendations for interior surface treatments to control noise and reverberation; detailing for construction necessary to acoustically separate the various research lab spaces, offices, and instructional labs throughout the facility; and noise and vibration control of mechanical equipment internal and external to the building. Greenbusch also provided Acoustical Design for the nearby Bannan Science Complex renovation as part of the same project.
